1. When is Halloween celebrated? And why?

Is it celebrated in 31st. Because that is the day the Celts believed that the boundaries from dead and the undead was the thinnest and when the spirits could come ino the living world.

2. What does "Halloween" mean? 

A contraction is a shortened version of All Hallows Eve, i.e., the evening before All Hallows Day, wich is always November 1.

3. How the people celebrated? 

- Watching a horror film.
-Set jack o' lanterns in you windows
-Load up on candy
-Decorate your house in the spirit of Halloween
-Have a halloween preparty 
-Welcome in the tricks or treaters
-Buy a new costume each year
-Carve a pumpkin.

4. Where is it celebrated? Germany, Asia, Australia, Central and South America, Europe, North America and the Caribbean, Saint Helena.

If you like the Balck Eyed Peas and Michael Jackso, or the Beatles and Led Zeppelin, you might like Lmfao. 
The group say they have been influenced by many different styles of music, from rap and hip hop to rock. The result is a new style of music: "party rock". The album Sorry For Party Rocking, with the single "Party Rock Anthem", is a big hit and now Lmfao are working on a Party Rock clothing line. Do you like party rock?

English singer Jessie J has had a great few months. Her debut album, Who Are You, has been a big hit. It has the singles "Do It Like a Dude", "Prince Tag" and "Nobody's Perfect". Jessie, age 23, sings pop, soul and R&B, but she became famous as a songwriter for Miley Cyrus!

-Koko, a female gorilla, lives at a research centre in California. Scientist Francine Patterson taught her to use sign language used by deaf people. One day, Koko met a kitten and became attached to it. When a car ran over the kitten Koko expressed her sadness by making the "sad" sign and staying on her own. 














-A Piglet sleeps on a tiger at Sriracha zoo in Thailand. Staff at the zoo encourage different animals to live together soon after they are born.

Cow Jumping: 

This is 15-year-old German girl, Regina Mayer and her cow, Luna. Regina loves horses but her parents did not have the money to buy her one. So she decided to train her cow to jump! Now Luna understands the  commands "go", "stand" and "gallop". Regina still wants a horse, but she loves her cow. "She'll stay my darling", Regina says. WRITING 

AN ACCOUNT OF A DECADE

The 2000's was a decade wich people will remember for many reasons. Specially for the new music, a lot of good things happened in football, and unfortunately, for many important disasters, too. 

In the world of music, there were a lot of pop artists in the charts, for example Avril Lavigne, Michael Jackson, Shakira, Beyoncé...About the sports there were a lot of important wins. For example FC Barcelona won six titles in the same season, including his firs Intercontinental Cup. The three most popular films in the decade of 2000 were: The Lord of the Kings, Gladiator and The Dark Knight.

On fashion women prefer fresh fashion but with a modern twist, little makeup, natural hair but combining structured hairstyles fashion little 1960 and the men more adventurous and fun.

And finally, a lot of disasters happened. In 2003 earthquake in Iran, in 2005 attack on the London underground, in 2004 Tsunami in the Indian Ocena, in 2006 the war crisis between Israel and Lebanon...

MY SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Hy, my name's Laia and now I'm going to talk about my summer holidays.

-First I'm going to talk about l'Estartit.

-Second I'm going to talk about my stage for a week in Palamos with my friend Laia Gan.

-Third I'm going to talk about my holidays in Mikonos.

Let's start!

Last summer I spent a long time in l'Estartit, it's my favourite place. The firsts days we were in a summercamp with children and this year it was for three weeks.

After this two friends from Brussels came, Victor and Joséphine. I sepnt a long time with them. The girl rides a horse and she rode all the time with me and the boy, Victor, who doesn't ride a horse but he love to spend all day with us in the hipica.

And in the end it was hard to say goodbye because we spent a lot of time together. The next summer they will come again.

In the middle of August, I went with my friend Laia Gan and her family in Palamós for one week because they are from Barcelona. Laia is a really good friend and she's fourteen years old.

In the morning we sometimes went to the beach, in the swimming pool...always with Oliver, the Laia's friend, he's seventeen years.

The parents of Laia are separated and she normally studies in Torroella de Montgrí with her mother. But this year for personal reasons, Laia has to go to Barcelona with her father and her mother too, and was hard again to say goodbye because this year I won't see her often.

The last week of August I went with my father, my father's wife and my sister to Mikonos in Greece for a one week. We were in hotel called Mikonian Imperial and it was really really nice! The first day we arrived at 10 o'clock in the night. The first day in Mikonos was beautiful. It's a very small island but the people are friendly, generous and cozy.

The other days were perfect, one day there was a gay party, and there were a lot of gays everywhere.

Indeed, Mikonos is the gay's paradise.

We came back to Banyoles on Saturday and after this I started the school.

INTERVIEW WITH JENNIFER LAWRENCE 

After the massive succes of "The Hunger Games" film, actress Jennifer Lawrence is learning to adapt to her superstar status

Jennifer Lawrence has a theory about celebrity relationships. The 22-year-old star of The Hunger Games is in a relationship with English actor Nicholas Hoult and Lawrence has remained tight-lipped on the subhect - until recently at least. 
"You don't want your relationship to be in the press," says the American actress, "but at the same time, ans this is only a theory, the more you try and keep it secret, the more the media tries to crack it open. 

"Maybe there's less pressure if you admit you are dating. 

Admitting that is just an experiment. I'm going to see how it goes." 

"MY LIFE IN LOS ANGELES HAS CHANGED A LOT" 

The relationship itself is going well, although Lawrence concedes thaht the phenomenal succes of last March's The Hunger Games has made the couple's time in Los Angeles intolerable. 
"My life in LA has changed a lot," she says. "I had to move out of my condo, wich is infested with paparazzi, and I am still paying of my Volskwagen, wich they know about and follow. 

Hence she Hoult (Skins, a Single Man) prefer spending time on the East Coast, or in the UK. 
It was with her starring role as Katniss in the adaptation of the first book in Suzanne Collins's bestselling trilogy The Hunger Games thaht interest in LAwrence really reached boiling point. 
"You can prepare for it in certain ways," she says of her sudden rise to superstardom. "I know if I don't want to get followed I have to take a different car and I've learnt not to leave pictures on the internet. 
"But I do worry that I'm too in your face because of the movie. There are poster of me everywhere and when I see poster of other people everywehere I think the're annoying, no matter what they're like personally or professionally. So I worry that I might start people off?

WORKING WITH A HOLLYWOOD LEGEND

Lawrence is locked into the franchise and must take thaht chance. She is currently midway through filming the second installment, Catching Fire, with the new director Francis Lawrence. "It's great to return," she beams. "IT feels like being a sophomore in high school because the first day at work is like the first day at school and you don't know if you're going to make friend. On this movie I know that I adore everyone".What does worry her, though, even more than her own ubiquity is Katniss's popularity. "Mi biffest concern is taking on the granchise was thaht people wouldn't be able to lose themselves in my other films - that they would only see Katniss". "I have definetly put a lot of thoufh into the movies I am doing that come out around The Hunger Games," she says. "That's why making a film like Silver Linings Playbook (Happiness Therapy) was so important". 
Directed by The Fighter's David O Russell, Silver Linings Playbook casts Lawrence opposite Bradley Cooper. She is a devoted fan of the film's director and was excited by the opportunity to work with Robert De Niro, who plays Cooper's father .In the one memorable scene, lawrence goes toe-to-toe with the legend, unleashing a forceful monologue right in this face. 
"I was obviously very aware thaht i was De Niro," she recalls, "but I wasn't necessarily nervous. I think he has a lot to do with that - he is a very nice, normal and warm person." 

TALENTED ACTRESS, TERRIBLE DANCER 

Lawrence's confidence can be traced back to her childhood, growing up with two older, sportsmad brothers on a Kentucky horse farm. HEr first break in the business came when she was spotted in New York. "I was offered a number of modelling contracts soon after but turned them down. I was lik, "Actually, I think I'm going to be an actor". That was an incredibly dumb thing to do at 14 but was probably the one time when my self-assuredness paid off." Her latest movie put her confidence to the test, however. For all her many talents Lawrence says that she is a terrible dancer. Wich is uynfortunate, as in Silver Linings Playbook LAwrence and Cooper enter a dance competition. "During rehearsals Bradley was brilliat and i was just awaful, " she says. " I was more like someone's dad dancing. It must have been painful for him".

WARM BODIES 

I'd like to recommend a film wich I watched recently, called Warm Bodies. The director of the film is Jonathan Levine. 

The film focuses on the development of the relationship between Julie, young woman, and "R", a zombie, and how their eventual romance develops throughout. The film is noted for displaying human characters, and for being told from zombie's prespective. 

The things I liked most about the film were the characters and the relationship. Some scenes are memorable because they're really strong. I liked the plot too because I think that it is an excellent idea. 

All in all, I really liked the film, it has a happy ending. I wouldn't change it. 
It's a funny film, but it's a lovely love stroy too.

I represent a group called "Nature Protection". I am writing to you because we are concerned about plans to build a motorway in our area.

In our opinion it is a bad idea to build a motorway because a lot of children go to the park every day. The play and enjoy the nature. If you destroy the park the animals who live there will die. The nature in our planet is very important and it's too more important to protect it. 

A motorway produces a lot of noise and it highly contaminates. There will be more foreigners and few people who respect nature. 

We have therefore decided to take action, and we are going to organize a protest. For this reason, we are sending you a video and we hope thaht you will support us and help to show people that we must protect nature.

A STAR FAMILY 

Britain's favourite family, the Beckhams, are now in Paris.
David and Victoria are famous for sport, music and fashion, but their kids have talents too. Here is their story...

Britain loves David Beckham. 
He is a famous football player who has played for the world's biggest clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and now Paris Saint Germain. He also played for his country, England, for a record 115 games and scored 17 times. David is married to Victoria  Beckham who was a singer in the successful girl group from 1990s: the Spice Girls. 
Her nickname was Posh Spice!

Everyone watched when David and Victoria got married in 1999. The wedding was in a caste in Ireland and was inspired by fairytales. The couple had thrones, just like a king and queen, and they sold the photos for one million pounds.

Children are precious in the Beckham family. Victoria had the couple's first child, Brooklyn in 1999. They have had two more sons, Romeo, age 11, and Cruz, age 8, and also a daughter, Harpere Seven, who was born in 2011.

King and Queen of style are what the press call David and Victoria Beckham. In 2008, David became a top model for an Italian label, and has made lots of adverts...often in his underpants! Victoria has become a big name in fashion too: stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Charlize Theron love her creations and wore her dresses at the Oscars. 

Hollywood has been home for the Beckham family since 2007. David went to play for the club LA Galaxy and when they arrived, they became friends with stars like Tom Cruise. Now they have 16 million euro house in an exclusive are of Beverly Hills. The couple's estimated fortun is 220 million euros! 

Ambassador for Unicef is one of David's jobs. He and Victoria work with AIDS charities and support children in Africa. When David moved to Paris Sain Germain in 2013, he decided to give all of his wages to a children's charity. 

Mum and dad are great exemples for Beckham children. This yeatr Romeo became a model for a big British fashion label. Brooklyn also had a trial for the youth team at Chelsea football club. So the question is, will the new generation of Beckhams be famous for sport or fashion? If they have their parents' talents, they can do it all!

Recently, taylor has been the subject of speculation about her relationship with On Direction's Harry Styles. She says she is embarassed that people talk about her love life. In the past, Taylor has had lost of famous boyfriends such as Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal. So dies she always go out with famous boys? "I really don't have any rules when it comes to heigh, age, career, choice, she says. 

International star 

The talented singer now has an internation reputation. Taylor's third album, Speak Now, was Number One in the USA, and Taylor has also tourned North America, Europe and Australia. Taylor loves playing live shows and speaking with her fans. "Fans are my favourite thing in the world", she says.
"I'll hang out with them after the show. I'll hang out with them before the show".

Taylor Swift isn't just a country singer...she is an actress too! Taylor has had roles in Valentine's Day, The Lorax and the TV series CSI. She also played herself in the film Hannah Montana: The Movie. With a successful music career and all her Grammy award, perhaps the next step for Taylor Swift is to win an Oscar?

Positive influence

Like other pop artists such as Shakira, Taylor Swift likes to help others. She gives money to schools and recorded the Hope for Haiti Now album for the victims of the victims of the disaster there. She also has a good influence on young people: Taylor avoids alcohol and cigarettes. "I don't think to get drunk because that's just not cute...and I don't want to smoke anything because I sing", she says.

 IS INTERNET ADDICTION REALLY A PROBLEM?

·Firstly, in my opinion, internet addiction is a problem. I agree with HeyGazza! and I disagree with Mygirl_Ruby and Marky002, because I think internet is a dangerous and important addiction, people who have this problem can do a lot od things that are dangerous.

·In addiction, people can think that her virtual life is real and can forget real life and the people who live there, and not care about friends, family...
This people can have a lot of problems in her REAL lives, with their relationships, friends, family...

·I have a friend that have this problem with internet and she spent the worst days of her life. At the begining she didn't know that she had this problem, but 2 or 3 weeks later her family discovered that she had this addiction because she didn't go anywhere at any places, she didn't go times with friends, she didn't study...only connected to internet all days.
Now she is doing a therapy and she is almost healed.

·Finally, in my point of view, the internet is an addiction and it is very dangerous, people who have this addiction must go to the specialists and they do a therapy.
